Covid vaccine for all above 18: Registrations begin on CoWin portal from April 24 – Times of India


NEW DELHI: The government recently announced that all the Indian citizens above the age of 18 years can now get Covid-19 vaccine in India starting May 1, 2021. The government has now announced that it will start taking registrations for the citizens above 18 years from 24 April.
The citizens eligible for the vaccine can register on Co-Win portal — cowin.gov.in. In order to register you will have to enter your mobile number first. After this, you will get an OTP for verification via SMS. To complete the registration process you will have to click on the ‘Verify’ button.
Once you register on the CoWin website, a new Registration page will appear and will ask you details like Photo ID type, Photo ID Proof number, name, date of birth, gender and others. After submitting the details you will have to click on the Register button. Once done, you will get all the important information about the vaccination via SMS.
It is important to note that you can register up to 3 people using the same mobile number.
Apart from registering for the Covid vaccine, you can also locate the nearest Covid-19 vaccination center online. You have to visit the website — www.cowin.gov.in and scroll down and you will notice a Map and dialogue box that reads ‘Enter place/address/eLoc’. You just have to fill your location and press enter.
On the other hand, you can also use Google Maps to find the Covid-19 vaccination center. You just have to search Covid-19 vaccination nearby on Google Maps and you will then get list of all the centers operating near you.
The government of India had taken the decision to vaccinate those above 18 years of age after Covid-19 cases surged drastically in the country.
