Mumbai: Two held within 24 hours after killing 35-year-old at Versova jetty | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: Police solved a case of murder of a 35-year-old man with the arrest of two men from Andheri within 12 hours after the body was found near Versova Jetty on Friday. The victim identified as Vikram Nishad died after he was stabbed multiple times by the duo—Sandeep Roy (22) and his aide Ganshyam Das (50)—late on Thursday over a petty financial dispute, said the Versova police.
DCP Abhishek Trimukhe formed the team after Versova police received a call informing about an unidentified dead body with multiple injuries was found near the jetty at around 11 am by locals. “The team with the help of local intelligence tracked the duo within 12 hours. They have confessed to killing the victim who hailed from Sultanpur in UP and resided on the roadside and did odd jobs. It seems financial dispute led to the killing,” said Trimukhe.
The matter worsened after Nishad hit on Roy’s eye who called Das and they both stabbed him. The duo accused worked at the jetty and did not flee after committing the offence. They were found roaming in the locality and was picked up on suspicion after questioning a few of their friends, said the police.
