valheim: Over 7 million copies of Viking game Valheim have been sold – Times of India


Valheim, the open-world Viking game, is going steady on the popularity charts. The game has sold over 7 million copies to date, while being about seven weeks young and still being in early access, as per a report by worthplaying.com. People have been flocking to buy and play the game ever since it was made available. The game had crossed the four million player mark on the Steam platform within three weeks of its launch in Early Access. During that time, the game had also hit 5 lakh concurrent Steam players that put it amongst the top 5 most played games in the history of Steam.
In Valheim, you can rope in your friends to play as a team. The game is playable only in the third person. It had 2 million players within 13 days of its release, a number that has steadily grown.
The game is set in the realm of Valheim, the tenth Norse realm, where you play as a fallen hero who has been borne by the Valkyries. You can go about exploring the wilds of Valheim, hunt animals, build structures and places to live, forge weapons and armour. Basically, try to live a life of adventure and survive the same.
Iron Gate AB, the developers of Valheim, has brought some improvements to the game with a new patch 0.150.3. The changes listed on the Steam page include: Swamp draugr spawner location fix to prevent draugrs from spawning inside stones, Lox pet-sfx fix, torches in locations should no longer support constructions, Dolmen location stone size fix and a new terrain modification system has been put in place.
